Golden Isles, GA: Coastal Georgia offers endless outdoor recreational opportunities.
On Saturday, September 15th Crooked River State Park in Saint Marys
will be highlighting some of those opportunities during the 1st annual
Experience Coastal Georgia event. The event is free; all that is
required is a $3 park pass per vehicle. From 9am-6pm visitors will be
able to enjoy food, music, nature programs, seminars, and a variety of
exhibitors.
There will be something for everyone. Starting at 9am, the
Audubon President of Glynn County, Lydia Thompson, will lead a bird
watching walk. Interested in nature photography? At 11am, there will be
a beginner photography class and an opportunity to enter the nature
photo contest. Kicking off at 1pm, members of the Woodbine Opry will be
performing Bluegrass & Bluegrass-Gospel music.
For fishing and boating enthusiasts, there will be a kayak
fishing rigging seminar, as well as courtesy boat inspections by the
U.S. Coast Guard. Throughout the day, local artists will be on hand to
showcase their talents, and beautiful artwork will be available for
sale. Choose from gorgeous hand crafted longleaf pine needle baskets,
serene nature landscape watercolors, creative copper artwork, and more.

With so much going on, visitors are sure to work up an appetite.
Food vendors will be offering a variety of dishes to satisfy any
palate. The fare will range from seafood to Philly cheesesteaks, hot
dogs to gumbo, BBQ to boiled crawfish, and more. Finish things off with
a funnel cake or Italian ice. There will also be drinks like coke, tea,
and lemonade to wash it all down.
