This easy to make delectably sweet dessert can be a fun cooking project to do with the kids. Be creative!!
You can choose to use almost any type of fruit (except melons - too
watery) and design it into your own unique masterpiece. This is also a
great recipe to use if you are expecting company. It has to be made in
advance so you can make it at your own convenience and not have to
worry about rushing to make it at the last minute when you have so many
other things to do.
- The listed ingredients will make a fruit tart the size of a 12 inch
pizza pan. You can double the portions if you want to make your fruit
tart the size of a large (about 16 inch) pizza pan.
INGREDIENTS:
Cookie Crust:
1 ½ c. Flour
¼ c.+ 2 Tbs. powdered sugar
¾ c. butter, softened
Filling
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chilled whipping cream
* Fruit for topping, cut into bite size shapes for decorating your tart.
* c. apple jelly for glazing your tart at the end.
