 Fort Pulaski on Tybee Island  Wolf Island, which includes Egg Island and Little Egg Island, was established as a migratory bird sanctuary on April 3, 1930. Then in 1975, the island was further designated as a National Wildlife Refuge. Over 75% of the island's acreage is made up of saltwater marshes. Although no public use is permitted on it's beach, marsh or upland areas, its coastal waters are open to recreational activities.
